Captain Jordan Edge is the Department's training officer.

Jordan Edge began his firefighting journey with the West Jackson Fire Department in 2004 as a Junior Firefighter. Since then, Jordan has held the ranks of Firefighter, FAO, Lieutenant, and currently serves as A Shift Captain on Truck 31. Jordan also serves as the Department Training Officer.

Jordan holds numerous Pro Board Certifications (NPQ) including FF2, Fire Officer 2, Instructor 2, HazMat Technician, and Apparatus Operator. These certifications are further supplemented by specialized training in advanced firefighting techniques, incident command, and leadership development.

Jordan's leadership is characterized by his collaborative approach, fostering a cohesive team environment grounded in open communication and mutual respect. He empowers his fellow firefighters to excel in their roles, ensuring seamless emergency response and community safety.

In his leisure time, Jordan enjoys exploring new destinations and cultures through travel. He finds great joy in experiencing different parts of the country, which not only serves as a source of relaxation but also broadens his perspective and enriches his life.

As a fire captain, Jordan is committed to steering the department towards greater heights of excellence, leveraging innovative strategies and cutting-edge technology to enhance emergency response capabilities and safeguard the well-being of the community.
